On 4th December 2012, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) signed an agreement with Jausa Construction Maldives Private Limited, to develop a Mini Mall in Hulhumalé.
The Mini Mall, once developed will be able to house facilities such as Restaurants, Cafés, Office Spaces as well as a daycare center, which are immediately needed and is vital for the development of the Hulhumalé.
Mr. Suhail Ahmed, the Managing Director of HDC signed the agreement on behalf of HDC, and Mr. Jilwaz Jaufar, Managing Director, signed on behalf of Jausa Construction Maldives Private Limited. HDC’s Managing Director informed the members of the press that the project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
“Right now, there is limited space for commercial activities. This Mini Mall will provide space for services like day care centers and a supermarket. Upon the completion of the project, additional space will be available for restaurants, cafés and for office purposes will be available.” Mr. Suhail Ahmed.
He also stated that the work for this project will start within a month and that the location allocated is behind the hospital in Hulhumalé.
